The rubber bands around top and bottom prevented the doors from swinging during movement.
The white rag is protecting the fixed key that controls locking the two center drawers.
The unfinished wood along each side of the upper cabinet top is the underside of the center section side supports.
The turned supports of the center section can be seen inside the upper section.
This is typical German Construction - Oak, massive and functional. If you have a large kitchen with higher ceilings, it will complement a country kitchen very well and will serve as a useful counterpoint in the most modern of kitchen designs.
